Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Umbrela (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use umbrela.dev (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Content data: the topics, prompts, categories, languages and settings you submit, and the videos, scripts, voiceovers, images, captions and metadata generated for you.
- Connected accounts: when you link a platform such as YouTube, we store the OAuth access/refresh tokens needed to publish on your behalf. We never receive your platform password.
- Usage & technical data: log data such as IP address, browser type, and actions taken, used to operate and secure the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information

3. AI & Third-Party Processors
To provide the Service we send prompts and content to trusted third-party providers, including:
- Google (Gemini API): for image generation, text-to-speech and text generation;
- xAI (Grok): for real-time, search-grounded scripts (e.g. sports and news);
- Google / YouTube Data API: to upload and manage videos on connected YouTube channels.
Your use of features that rely on Google services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (an authentication token). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact). Connected-account tokens are deleted when you disconnect the platform.
